Greyhound Friends has again been invited to participate in this huge event. There are hundrends of vendors, excellent food and greys are welcome at the GFNJ booth which is located in the center of town at the main intersection near the White Horse Inn.
Since this is a two day event we will need as many folks as possible to help talk to people and just show off our greys. This is always a good event for future adoptions and fund raising.
Directions:
From Philly: Rt 73S to Rt 70E to Rt 72E-3 miles to Rt
563, follow signs. Total approximate time is about 1 hour.
From S. Jersey and Delaware: Rt 295N to Rt 70E to Rt
72E-3 miles to Rt 563, follow signs. Approximate time is
about 45 minutes once exiting from Rt 295.
From the North: NJ Turnpike South to exit 7;Rt 206S to
Rt 532E-take to second "stop" sign...this is downtown

Pat Chico has volunteered her driveway on Saturday October 22 from 8AM to 1PM for a flea market with all the proceeds going to the greys. Pat is a basset adopter but greyhound fan and animal lover.
Pat is located at 317 Center Avenue, Runnemede. You can call Pat at 856-939-6338 to make arrangements to drop off your precious cast off items for sale. Pat will be able to take the items the whole week before the sale.
Please come and shop and if you can help, that would be great. We will be setting up the items early on Saturday, October 22nd. Directions below.

Calling All Passaic County Greyhounds for the weekly Saturday Stroll starting at 9AM at Barbour Pond Park in Wayne. Organized by Lisa Hoffman Missygirl101@aol.com

Each walker needs to bring plastic bags and is encouraged to water spray their dogs or have them wear a wet down coat or bandana. There is a water fountain.
DIRECTIONS
North of Wayne take the Newark Pompton Turnpike to Valley Road, Make a left onto Valley road and the first left onto Barbour Pond Road. Pass a nursery school and a baseball field on the left. Look for a small wood sign with the park name on it and bear left into the short road leading into the park. Meet at the end of the road in the parking lot with the kids playground. They make two rounds around the path and spend about an hour.
From the south take Rte. 23 north. Take valley road exit and once you cross the intersection of Hamburg Turnpike and Valley road look for that 1st left hand turn into Barbour Pond Road. Follow as above from there.

Every Sunday, weather permitting, there's an informal Greyhound Walk around Van Saun Park in Paramus. The longest distance we walk is just under 2 miles, but it's easy to bail out at anytime if you or your pooch is pooped. And speaking of pooped... here's the details:

Each walker needs to bring plastic bags and is encouraged to water spray their dogs or have them wear a wet down coat or bandana. There is a water fountain.
DIRECTIONS
North of Wayne take the Newark Pompton Turnpike to Valley Road, Make a left onto Valley road and the first left onto Barbour Pond Road. Pass a nursery school and a baseball field on the left. Look for a small wood sign with the park name on it and bear left into the short road leading into the park. Meet at the end of the road in the parking lot with the kids playground. They make two rounds around the path and spend about an hour.
From the south take Rte. 23 north. Take valley road exit and once you cross the intersection of Hamburg Turnpike and Valley road look for that 1st left hand turn into Barbour Pond Road. Follow as above from there.

Greyhound Friends, NJ is once again participating in the Holiday Gift Wrap at Barnes and Noble located at 765 Rt. 17 S. Paramus, NJ.
We have been offered the following times: Dec 9th - 4-11pm and Dec 19th - 4 -11pm. We are looking for volunteers to wrap books and usually break the volunteer shifts into 4 - 7:30pm and 7:30 — 11pm.
Unfortunately we are not allowed to bring our dogs, but we do manage to engage customers with Greyhound information and come away with significant donations. It’s a fun event and you can get some holiday shopping done as well.

GFNJ has been scheduled for gift wrapping at the Borders in Fort Lee (1642 Schlosser Street) on Saturday, December 3, 11-9 and Thursday, December 22, 4-9.
