A Meet & Greet is an informal way to learn about Greyhounds and the need that retired racers have for good homes. Spend time with some beautiful dogs and find out how to adopt one of your own. Or, give your Grey the chance to spend time with other Greyhounds.

Ringwood Highlands Festival

Join GFNJ for this event held at Shepherd Lake, which is part of Ringwood State Park.

There will be all types of vendors, a doggie parade with a grand prize, pet related vendors, games for kids, etc.

We are asking for any or all to come with their dog (s). The parade is in costume, so dress them up an show them off.

Since it is a long day we need Volunteers to help "man" the Greyhound Friends booth, so the dogs can get a break for a while.

We will be selling our bandanas with 100% of the proceeds going to GFNJ.

The day offers hayrides to the pick your own pumpkin field, pony rides, petting zoo, corn maze, straw maze, pedal course, face painting and tattoos, sand art, candy art, games, inflatable moon bounce, vendors, food, crafters, country music, goat milking demonstrations, clown shows, straw jump, activity tent contests, and more. The farm market is open as well - delicious farm fruit pies, apple cider, candy apples, jams, jellies, and assorted baked goods are also available in the market. Admission is charged this weekend only.

Please join GFNJ at a Meet & Greet at Renaissance Festival!!!

VOLUNTEERS ARE EXPECTED TO DRESS IN MEDIEVAL GARB (event rules)

This annual event is sponsored by the City of New York Parks and Recreation and the Washington Heights and Inwood Development Corporation (a not-for-profit organization). This is the festival’s 22nd year!

Admission is free.

The festival is a unique chance to experience the medieval period in the most authentic setting this side of the Atlantic. The area around the Cloisters Museum in Fort Tryon Park is transformed into a medieval market village where knights in armor, jugglers, jesters, magicians, musicians, storytellers, and puppeteers will perform. A blacksmith, manuscript illuminator, pottery decorator, wood carver and other artisans will demonstrate their crafts. Performers and fairgoers dress in historical costumes. Medieval food is available and craft items will be sold. The afternoon culminates with a jousting event between knights on horseback!

Kay Klotzbach's Art Show - "Dog Years - Paintings from 2000 - 2006"

The show will run from October 6 - 31st at the Vineland Community Art Alliance, located at 603 Landis Avenue, Vineland, NJ. The contact number for directions and gallery hours is 856-794-9499.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, October 13, 6pm to 9pm.

A raffle of an original oil painting by Kay of the winner's pet will start on 10/1/06. The painting will measure 24"x30" and is on canvas.

Raffle tickets are 1 for $3.00; 2 for $5.00; and 5 for $10.00.
