Trailside Pet Fair

WHEN: Sunday May 3, noon - 5 pm. Rain or Shine

GFNJ has again been invited to the Trailside Pet Fair in Union County. We need a couple of volunteers with animal/child friendly dogs as there are many rescues at the event with animals of all sizes. This is a relaxing day in the Watchung Reservation with all types of rescues, 4 H'ers, etc. with miles and miles of trails. Dogs are welcome!

Admission: $2 (ages 6 and under free)

GFNJ is Participating in the Arthritis Foundation's Annual Walk in Middletown, NY

Come visit our booth at the Arthritis Foundation's Annual Walk on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Thomas Bull Memorial Park, Middletown, New York.

We will be located at the pavillion from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm.

We have been invited to show off our beautiful Greys and to let everyone know how wonderful they are. The gentle nature of a Greyhound is a great fit for people with physical limitations.

3rd Annual Doggie Daze
Presented by Long Valley Dog Park

Doggie Daze features dog rescue and shelter groups with dogs on-site for adoption, a mini "dog park" play area for dogs to mingle, doggie contests and games, music, pet vendors and information, a microchip clinic, prizes and goodie bags of pet related items.

A donation of $10.00 per car is requested (dogs are free!).

Canine Good Citizen testing will also be available for an additional small fee.

There are two fun contests for Doggie Daze.

Enter the "My dog is a Hero Contest" and tell us why your dog is a hero in 50 words or less. Entries for "My dog is a Hero" can be sent to lvdpmembers@yahoo.com. Deadline for this contest is May 10th.

The other contest is open to children 12 and younger. Draw a picture of you and your dog doing something fun and bring it with you to Doggie Daze.

All the entries will be posted and prizes awarded during Doggie Daze.

GFNJ's Annual Spring Picnic

RAIN OR SHINE !!!

When: Sunday May 17th, 11am - 3pm

Where: Duke Island Park, Old York Road, Bridgewater, NJ

What: A great time to be had by you and your dog(s). Fun things to do, greyt items to buy, good food to eat, raffle prizes to be won, and more!

Therapy Dog International, Inc certification testing will be available. The fee is $15.
For combined TDI and CGC testing the fee is $20, and for CGC testing only the fee is $10.

Asbury Bark is hosting a Meet & Greet for GFNJ. This is also Asbury Park's monthly "First Saturday," where the boutiques and galleries stay open throughout the evening along with the bistros.
