~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
April
I recently put the love of my life, April ("Winta Get-Away"), to sleep for bone cancer in her leg. She was 11. We had 9 lovely years together.
Biloxi
I just recently had to have my greyhound cross over the bridge on December 20 2016. I got her from the Cherry Hill NJ greyhounds 5 yrs ago and was the sweetest and gentlest girl you could ever have. Everyone was in love with her. She always gave me unconditional love with many kisses.
Ozzie (Victory Ride)
I just wanted you to know that Ozzie passed away today of lymphoma. Although we only had him for 22 months, he made such an impact on our family. He was a funny, loving boy who loved to give hugs, "hop" around our yard, who followed us everywhere (we joked that he should've been named Shadow) and was at attention for squirrels all the time. It was a joy to see him blossom into such a greyt dog. He will be deeply missed by our family and he was so very loved.
We just wanted to let the group know, and thank you for the gift of him.
KB’s Dameron
KB’s Dameron (6/1/2010 – 11/17/2016)
We are saddened at the sudden passing of our goofy boy Dameron. We were blessed to be able to have him in our lives for 2 years. While his time on earth was way too short, it was filled with love, zoomies and his favorite activity, Sunday walks with all of his greyhound buddies in Veterans Park. A weak heart took him way too early but now he can zoom and chase to his heart’s content across the rainbow bridge. Rest in peace, sweet boy.
Sweet Pea
Sweet Pea was well loved by everyone who met her. She lived up to her name in every way. Reading dog, therapy dog, Greyhound ambassador at M&G's, faithful companion. She loved kids, and the neighbors came over to play with her. She is sadly missed by her Toyger cat companion, Indy, and myself.
