~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
Jessie Toth 11-94 to 7-04
Jessie my heart girl! Memories of Jessie: Jessie and her love of Hats, her quiver face with squinty eyes, always a lady and would cross her front legs when sitting or laying down. Jessie’s love of men, our little Jezebel Refusing to walk at Dewey in the middle of the street making all the cars go around her and causing a traffic jam until Daddy went to get the van for her. Talents: Opening bedroom doors, master at gates, turning a queen size bed into a twin. Her love of slim jims and Peanut butter, her beautiful rooing voice. Snuggling with Mom on the couch, her relentless barking at Dad until he took her for a car ride! We miss you and love you Jessie. You are always in our hearts and in our thoughts. Until we meet at the Rainbow Bridge, run free our love run free….
My brave and beautful girl. It's been one year since we said goodbye and I still miss you like it was yesterday. You brought so much joy and laughter into our home. What we wouldn't give to see your "happy dance" one more time. Missing and Loving you always.
Cindy, Mark and your brother, Big Daddy
Georgi GIrl Miller 2/22/93-7/5/04
Georgi Girl Miller (AKA Pro’s Disneyland)
Our beloved Georgi Girl came to us in August of 2002 at the age of 9 — ½ years. She was a senior brood mom from Florida who was lovingly fostered by Sue. This gal was so happy and thankful to live with us, she anxiously learned all kinds of tricks. The first one was taking a treat by our hand. It was apparent that she was not fed anything by hand since when we first offered her a treat this way, she did not know what to do. She quickly learned to sit and to give us her paw. Of course, she saw that her new siblings, Harley (a greyhound sister identical to her but 6 years younger) and Woody (a border collie brother) had already mastered these feats. When I would come home from work, she would beat Woody to the door to greet me, and she would keep nudging me until I pet her. I learned to empty my hands quickly so I could greet her immediately. She was totally devoted to me and my family. She lived with us for almost two years until she crossed the bridge on her terms peacefully in her sleep on her bed. We miss her terribly, but we do find great comfort knowing that the best years of her life were spent with us!
I have posted her pictures under her racing name, Pro’s Disneyland, on the “The Greyhound Breeding and Racing Database” (www.greyhound-data.com/) and to my delight have been contacted by a woman in Nova Scotia, Canada who adopted one of Georgi’s pups, “Ibelieveindreams.” She has emailed me his picture and I have found the best comfort in knowing that my beloved Georgi Girl lives on. Her pup looks exactly like her too!
