Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;

those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,

just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;

they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.

His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.

Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,

you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,

and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Romeo Coslet

We thank Greyhound Friends for allowing us to bring this wonderful dog into our lives even if it was for such a short time. We loved Romeomeo (nickname) very much, he was a great dog. We were honored to be allowed to be his parents. We miss him terribly.

Bristol McArdle

Bristol McArdle (AKA Boligee Bristol)

On September 28, 2005 Bristol was assisted to the bridge. He slipped away peacefully and with his ever present dignity. In the private time I had with him before his passing he lifted his head and looked me squarely in the eye. I am not going to pretend that I know what he was thinking or trying to say, but until that moment, I didn’t realize just how much love we really have for our greyhounds and how their love is constant and unconditional. Bristol was 22 days shy of his 12th birthday.

Comet & Tess

Madeleine, Yong, Cole and Moonk recently lost their beautiful (inside and out) Tess. She had a good life and was much loved. This is a photo of Tess (the light fawn) and her first greyhound sibling and best boy, Comet. They are both happy and pain free at the Rainbow Bridge.

Dakota

Dakota was returned to us early this summer with medical problems her owners could not afford to deal with. Patty and Woody Tustin opened their home to her and she was taken to the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital for a diagnostic work-up by neurologist Dr. Glass. An MRI disclosed the worst, an inoperable brain tumor. She returned home with the Tustins to live out what time she had in a loving home. Unfortunately, her time was limited, and she left us for the Rainbow Bridge early in July. Thank you to Patty and Woody for making her last days comfortable and happy.

A Tribute to Pheobe Siciliano

Today my sweet little girl you have left us to join your brother. The day you entered our lives you were scared and abused but from the first time you laid your head in my hand you gave me all your trust and love. From you I have learned forgiveness, patience, and joy of life. You blessed us with your unconditional love and we shall miss you. May you forever run free and know we shall never forget you.
