~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
Charlotte
R.I.P. 6/2/12-6/28/21
We miss our little sweet girl so much. Charlotte was our third greyhound since 12/1998. To us the greyhound is the best dog breed by far. She was our first girl and we were so very blessed to have her in our lives for the six and half years we had her. Charlotte was truly a member of the our family. Our little girl was just like a daughter to us and a sister to our girls. She is now up in heaven with our Diesel and Charlie. We will never forget her. You are in our hearts forever. She and I would take a morning walk everyday and that will be the hardest to do without. Our Charlotte may you rest in peace. We love you so much.
Eddie
Eddie Carmody, formerly Pat C Boycott was adopted by Siobhan Carmody on December 10, 2015. He lived happily in Washington Heights and spent many fun times in Brooklyn and Rockland County with family. He fiercely loved his humans, and did not like them being too far away from him, especially Siobhan. He was very loving and wanted to give hugs to all that would have it. He loved going on walks, whether it was the local dog park, a hiking trip, Fort Tryon park, or just around the neighborhood. We were fortunate to take many trips to the Coney Island Boardwalk and upstate to the Catskill Mountains. Eddie wanted to be wherever family was, and that was what made him the happiest.
In October 2020, Eddie was diagnosed with a soft tissue intra-muscular sarcoma, which is a pretty rare place to have a sarcoma. Treatment could not be curative, and Eddie enjoyed up until the last minute when his body just couldn’t take the burden anymore. He was just eight years old.
I feel lost without Eddie, but his memory and the love that he gave me will live on forever. Thank you, Greyhound Friends of New Jersey for brining Eddie into my life.
Burdette
My wonderful boy Burdette (KB's Burdette) past away on Feb. 12th. 2021. He was a momma's boy who would follow me around, lay his head in my lap, was friendly with other dogs and loved his sister hound Sophie. He was 11 years and 8 months old.
I miss him with all my heart.
Forrest and Jenny
They will always be as they are in the photos. Together, side by side.
Forrest aka Country Venture February 2012 - age 7
Jenny aka Dublin Mary Ann December 2020 - age 13 and 3/4 years
Nyxie (Dragon's Lair's Onyx Wyrm)
You knew her as Gogo Hera, but to us, she was Nyxie (Dragon's Lair's Onyx Wyrm).
7.5 years with her was simply not enough. She loved squeaky toys, food (especially a good steak), her giant beanbag chairs, and chasing all our other greyz around our huge fenced backyard. And she had a great sense of humor, as illustrated when she ate the one and only tiny watermelon growing on the vine my wife was so proud of (crunch, crunch, crunch, gulp). She would "troll" people by batting at them if they walked by the beanbag she was laying on and they didn't stop to pet her... or when stopped petting her and walked away. She was a champion roacher, cuddler, and farter, and we miss her horribly.
