~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
Boomer
We adopted Boomer from Greyhound Friends of NJ in July 1999. She was 5yrs old & we were concerned we wouldn’t have her long enough to make a difference in her life. We were wrong. We had the privilege of providing Boomer with a loving home for 9 ½ years. She loved her walks & my dad, Leo, made sure she got them a few times a day. My mom, Carol, would get on the floor & massage her. She was spoiled & treated like a queen & she deserved every minute of it. Boomer was very friendly & gentle with children & adults – everyone in the neighborhood would stop to pet her when she was out on her walk. Even though she came into a home with two other dogs whom she adored, once they passed on, she decided that this home was too good to share & was less than friendly to other dogs (& that’s putting it mildly!). She loved spending time lounging on her fleece beds, throwing her toys around & eating her treats. However, as she aged, she played less & less & just enjoyed the simple walks & lounging (& her turkey stew!). We just lost our Boomer girl on December 8, 2008 as she joined her sisters in heaven. She was a wonderful companion who had a lousy first 5 years, but an incredible 9 ½. She can now run free with no pain or discomfort & wait for us to join her. She will forever be loved & missed.
Jonesy (Shannon Dreamer)
Jonesy was just seven years old when we lost him to osteosarcoma. He was a true hero and brave boy, and we will never, ever forget him.
Gussie (Phil's Jimmy)
Gussie (Phil's Jimmy)
1996-2008
Gus was a sweet if a bit spooky, two time bounce back due to both of his prior owners developing ill health. He was is every way a gentleman and when he was returned, I could not stand the thought of him looking for another home. There is always room for another ......so fostering was out....and in to my pack he came. He was not a meet and greet dog, preferring to stay at home.....the welcoming committee when we returned, but always with the air of a prince, allowing you to come back to his castle. Gus would stand there wagging his tail and looking at you with his big, soulfull eyes and without being pushy, demanded dinner...and his dog bed fluffed....and hugs.... He left us due to a ruptured carotid aneurysm that took him quickly and painlessly. Run free Gussie and make the biggest bed at the bridge your own until we all join you there.
Patty Tustin
Mom to Danielle and Bill, ....and Fur Kids Magic, Rosie, Foppa, Tony, Jazz, Ralph, Sharpie, Coco, Winifred, Delilah and Maverick ....and pussycats Stormy and LeStat...and....Lovebird Stevie....Karen the fish ....and waiting at the bridge our loved ones, who are forever in our hearts.
Ranger and Carney
My best friend "Ranger" 1994-2008, was predeceased by his brother Carney. (5-92-12-2003).
Ranger was a very abused messed up child that became the lord protector of our home. Carney was fun, silly and playful. They loved us to the hilt. After Carney passed, Ranger adopted a new brother, Buddy. Our family of greys has been the happiest days of my life. I only want to be sure they wait for me in the hereafter.
Who needs people? I will never get over the love, fun, personality and emotion my greyhounds had shown to me and my mom.
Gone, never forgotten, I will join you guys soon! I love you all so dearly.
Katie
