~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
Blaze 9/9/2000-7/21/2009
Blaze came into our lives with in May 2003. He had been returned twice and was wary of a new home, but over time he came to love and trust us. He loved going on trips with us, and was always happiest in the car. Well-traveled as a racer, he went many places with us as well, from Georgia to Nova Scotia.
In April 2009 he began limping, and a trip to the vet confirmed he had bone cancer. He bore his illness without complaining, still going for his daily walks in the park until the end. Only eight years old, he succumbed on July 21, 2009.
Blaze, we wish we had had more time with you.
Miley (aka Tory)
In March 2009 my husband and I adopted a greyhound Miley aka: Tory. She was our love of our lives, brought her into our home and she became very attached to us immediately. She brought so much joy to our home and sadly we lost Miley to cancer January 8, 2010. She was taken away from us too soon. I know she is in doggie haven and playing like a puppy.
She will be very much missed.
JULIE (MISSY) HOLLY (SHATA RIOT)
JULIE (MISSY) HOLLY (SHATA RIOT) 11/1/98 TO 11/19/2009
We lost our beautiful, sweet, gentle, precious girl to lung cancer less than three months after “her brother” Woody passed away from a tumor in his spine. She is very much missed by her five surviving brothers and sisters. Julie was with us for seven very happy years. She was our third dog; we initially adopted a black male but we had to return him two days later as it turned out he was not cat safe. We thought we were getting another black male but we were all surprised when this little female got out of the car!!
Julie was a real homebody. She loved to go for walks and rides in the car, but couldn’t wait to go home. During the day, she would jump up on our bed and pull the top sheet and blanket down until she was lying on the bottom sheet as she wanted to be near us. We would always come home to a messy bed and knew that it was Julie who messed it up! She didn’t mind the other dogs lying on her bed during the day; however, come bedtime – the other dogs had better watch out! She would literally lie on top of another dog if he/she dared lie in her bed!
Julie loved her Milk Bone cookies and treats. When she wanted one, she would stare at us until we gave in (which we did all too often). How could you resist those soulful eyes?
Shortly after we lost Woody, Julie started to cough. Our vet diagnosed kennel cough. However, a week end by and she didn’t get any better so we took her for a chest x-ray. We were in shock when she was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer as she didn’t show any symptoms other than the cough. As the cancer progressed, she struggled to breathe so we made the difficult decision to let her go in peace.
Julie Girl, we miss you so; you have no idea how much you enriched our lives.
Ready April 1998- Dec. 13, 2009
Ready
April 1998- Dec. 13, 2009
He was the most loving, caring best friend anyone could ask for. All he ever wanted was to be loved and go for his afternoon run with Mom and be fed (and of course have his nightly greenie!). He usually lounged around on his couch or bed - unless he needed some extra attention - then he would go take Valerie's magnets off the fridge. Whenever we cut carrots up - he would come running to his spot in the doorway and sit and beg for as many carrots as he could get. He just loved any food he could get his mouth on! He was famous for lifting something off of a plate (like one hamburger) without messing up the rest of the food on the plate When he was younger (in his "puppy" days) - he destroyed 3 remotes! (we were frustrated - but we loved him even though he was a little crazy!) We were fortunate enough to have him for 10 years - we adopted him when he 1 1/2 years old. Ready has joined our beloved cat Zeppo in heaven.
Ready - we love you and miss you so much- you will be in our hearts forever. Someday we will meet you at the bridge and run and play with you again.
Jane, Glenn Valerie and Tricia (the cat) Thompson
Bob Schules aka "BL I love Bobby"
Bob Schules aka "BL I love Bobby"
June 1993 - October 2, 2009
Bob came to us in 1997. He was to be a "Foster". This was our first failure at "Fostering". He was just suppose to help Disney with her separation anxiety. Bob walked into the house, jumped on the couch and stayed a member of the family. He was a handsome boy. He had the softest ears that he loved to have played with. Bob had a linebacker body where most are receivers. Not big, but solid. He is missed by Disney, our 15 1/2 year old girl. The whole family is missing him, but know he is in a better place, eating nothing but treats and chasing as many rabbits as he can.
We love you and miss you Bob.
Terri, Kevin, Erick, Jasen, Disney and Jesse Schules
