A Star Shook Up whose call name was "Shook" is an absolutely stunning big boy. He is one of those big "mooshie" boys who we have come to love. He is super friendly and happy to meet everyone. He is a statuesque boy who was described as "Mr Big Personality".
A Star Shook Up - Foster Update 5/28
Shook has been enjoying life in his foster home. He’s a happy boy — and nothing made him happier than to find our own dog’s hidden bone booty in our yard (much to our dog’s chagrin). He is full of joy and love. Over the last couple of weeks, he has become more and more keen on our cats. At first, he could be redirected. But, as he’s become more at home and comfortable, he is much too interested in our cats. And, while he is extraordinary with our dog-friendly kids, ages 10 and 14, he has exhibited keen interest in a toddler. Because of his size (he’s a big one!) we recommend he go to a home that does not include small animals or children under the age of 10. Shook is still working on not counter surfing, but he is getting there. Shook is a big, mushy boy—he Loves to give and hugs, so laying on his affections with someone his own size or more would be a great fit.
Foster Update 5/15/2016
A STAR SHOOK UP
Whoa! Check THIS boy out! A Star Shook Up is a very tall, stunning greyhound that turns heads everywhere he goes. Born January 15, 2014, he has a commanding, yet silent, presence because of his size, beautiful coat, and “fluffy” tail. And what a personality! This sweetheart is one happy hound!
Here’s what
you need to know about Shook:
- Very affectionate
- Good with our 4 cats, generally ignoring them
- Good with our dog-friendly kids, ages 10 and 14
- Eats well and has not shown signs of food aggression
- Often shares a bed with another hound but has been known to warn off any potential would-be snugglers of the canine variety once in a while
- Travels well in the car
- Crates well while we are at work
- Takes direction and corrections well ––Shook is eager to please
- Mastered the stairs
- Mastered our wood, tile, and laminate flooring (unless he’s moving too fast)
- Sleeps though the night on a dog bed next to our bed
- Excellent on a leash
Shook, however is a thief. We’ve been working with him on his penchant for picking up what he can carry and walking off with it.( A hoarding trait of some greyhounds)
A young boy, he is coming into adulthood nicely. He has some energy to him but is perfectly happy lounging on a dog bed in any room you’re in.
Shook is incredibly charming and very sweet. We feel he would do well with another hound or as an only dog. While he is confident, he is not an alpha.
The home lucky enough to adopt Shook will be welcoming a loving and dedicated family member. He has a warm soul and loving spirit.
