Fox Trap who is now called "Lily" was recently relinquished after being in her home for a year. The adopter's living and work situtaion had to change and Lily not only moved but she was alone much of the time as her adopter worked many hours. Lily was loved but the adopter could not give her attention. Lily whined when the adopter was out which caused many compaints. Lily is an adorable little girl who is in a foster home and described as "very sweet." If you have another greyhound or are home alot, please consider giving Lily a second chance at a loving home. Lily turned 4 in August.

Se's Fox Trap whose call name is "Fox" is one stunning little girl at only 52 pounds! She was a crowd pleaser today with all of the volunteers. She's not only adorable but she's affectionate, friendly, happy but not pushy. She seems to love people and other dogs. She walks nicely on leash. She's very attentive and seems like a quick learner. Fox is 3 years old and cat tolerant with supervision.
Foster Update 10/30/2015
Fox fit into our household from the moment she walked in the door. She is all about investigating her new world outside of racing. Very curious about everything, she has just the right balance of confidence and teachability. She crates well, and quiets down at night after some initial minor whining (she does not sleep in our bedroom yet because the cat has priority there). House training has been achieved effortlessly. She easily goes up and down the stairs. She has shown interest in the kitchen trash can, the countertop, and objects on low tables and shelves, but can easily be redirected. Her leash manners are not ideal but tolerable. She tends to pull a bit and go back and forth in front of me because she’s so interested in everything, but she comes back to loose leash with a gentle reminder. We are working on this behavior and I expect it to improve over time, as she is smart and a willing learner.
Fox knew exactly what the toy basket was for the instant she saw it. She grabbed a stuffie, tossed in the air, gave it a good shake, and then trotted with it into her crate. She repeated the procedure with the rest of the toys, then proceeded to add a few towels and an afghan to her collection (we drew the line at the afghan). She likes to rearrange her bedding to make a nest.
The only thing she was initially fearful of was our cat. At first she was hesitant
to eat her meals in the kitchen, constantly looking over her shoulder to see if
the dreaded feline was approaching (said feline was just as nervous about
her!). But after just a few days, their fear has given way to mutual respect
and avoidance.
Fox loves attention and is very affectionate, often approaching my husband and me for petting. She is so glad to see us after even a short absence that it really
makes us feel special! Fox has taken on the role of official greeter when
visitors come to the house. Everyone she has met comments on her delightful
personality and friendliness. Her sweet outgoing personality at PetsMart this
morning inspired one woman to check out our website.
So far it seems that Fox, with her calm and friendly nature, would be a good fit in
most families. She has not met children yet but would probably be fine with
kids who know how to act around dogs. She does not seem to mind being the only dog in the household and doesn’t show any signs of separation
anxiety.
