Easi King is an absolutely beautiful boy. He is a tad reserved with new people and new situations but once he feels comfortable and secure, he is friendly. He is a quiet boy who is quite sweet. He walks well on leash. If you give this boy a chance and some TLC, he'll be your best friend. Easi King will be 2 years old in September. He is cat tolerant with supervision.
Foster Update 9/15/2015
Aptly named, Easi King is both easy going and regal. This statuesque boy celebrates his second birthday 9/21 (born in 2013). He has a mellow spirit and is quite calm. King can be a bit shy at first–he likes to know his surroundings and people before warming up to them. A cautious observer, he pensively absorbs his environment and thinks things through. He’s been a top student in his foster home:
- Quickly acclimated to life in a busy home.
- Gets along with our kids (ages 10 and 14).
- Ignores the cats.
- Does well with our two greyhounds and another foster greyhound in the home (one is sophisticated (age 11), the other two are a tad goofy (ages 2 and 7)). He follows queues from our greyhounds; King is not an alpha and appreciates the leadership of both the resident greyhounds and people in his foster home.
- Mastered the stairs and walking on our wood/tile/laminate flooring.
- Excellent leash walker.
- Enjoys riding in the car.
- Fully house trained; no accidents in the house.
- Does well in a crate while we are at work/school.
- Sleeps through the night on a dog bed next to our bed.
- Eats well.
- Enjoys discovering new things, often exploring our gardens on his own.
As GFNJ foster greyhounds are not allowed on furniture in their foster homes, King has been learning that the couch is off limits. At times, we do catch him on it and immediately correct him. If his adopter allows him on the couch, this would, of course, be a non-issue.
King is quite submissive and is eager to please. Because of this, along with his initial shyness, he will do great with an adopter who will be a gentle, yet strong, leader for him. He will look to his adopter to set the rules and to be the alpha. In return, he will deliver an abundance of love, loyalty, and adoration. King is a wonderful, young greyhound who is learning the new and beautiful world of home life and growing his confidence. King will devote himself to his adopter. In return, the adopter will have the profound privilege of seeing the wonder of the world through King’s eyes and sharing life together.
