About Digger

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Black

KB's Digger is a stunning boy who impressed us all.  He's mellow, friendly and happy.  He walks nicely on leash and is just happy to be with the person walking him. He's another one of our big "mooshie" boys that we love.  He is 2 years old and cat workable although he would be best without a cat.  Digger was one of our favorite boys that arrived today.
Foster Update 6/4/2015

Say hello to KB's Digger!  This gorgeous boy was born April 9, 2012 and still has a little bit of puppy in him - it comes in the form of a bright spirit and joyful exuberance. This is one happy hound!  While he looks like a black greyhound, take a closer look.  This boy has a chocolate nose!  It's both stunning and unique.

He has fallen right into the groove of our busy foster home.  The home includes two parents who work outside the home full-time, two kids - ages 9 and 13, two greyhounds of our own, and three cats.

  • Let's start with the cats: No cats for Digger.  He is  keen on them and, after attempting introductions a few times, we've determined that he should avoid being adopted into a home with cats.
  • Digger does well with our kids. However, he might be too playful and not realize his size for very small children.
  • Digger has not demonstrated any space or food aggression.  He is happy-go-lucky - emphasis on happy. He is a true tail wagger.
  • He is confident and curious without being an alpha. He is submissive to our two hounds; one of those is an alpha and the other thinks he is an alpha.
  • He does well in his crate, which he uses while we are at work. He spends about 6 hours in his crate.
  • At night, he sleeps on a dog bed in our bedroom.  He sleeps through the night.
  • Digger has had no accidents in the house.
  • Digger can be slightly stubborn when he begins his leash walks. By this, we mean that he will stand strong, not budging. Sometimes he will stop mid walk and needs to be coached to move. Once he gets going, he does well. We've noticed improvement each time we take him for a walk and we feel he will continue to get better and better at it. Digger is a quick study.
  • He has mastered the stairs, along with walking on our wood, tile, and laminate flooring.
  • Digger eats well - no food issues.

Digger is a true head-turner.  He is a regal hound, yet has a warm and loving heart.  He lives to get and give affection and stays by our sides. He has a brilliant aura about him - one that shines with happiness. And it is truly contagious - one can not help but smile when Digger looks into ones' eyes. If you're looking for a young greyhound who is full of life and love - one who brings with him a beautiful joy and total loyalty, he may be the boy for you. He will love you for the rest of your life.
