About Jasmine

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Red

Jasmine is an adorable puppy at only 16 months old.  She's a pretty little girl who is very gentle.  She needs some TLC and another dog to help her to gain confidence.  Her face just screams "love me" with her very kind eyes.  She's an unassuming girl who will blossom into a great and loving companion.  Jasmine is 16 months old and cat tolerant with supervision.
Foster Update 3/15/2015

Jasmine is the sweetest little peanut and so very affectionate.  She is very generous with her hugs and kisses and will often lay her head on my lap or shoulder wanting to be stroked, I believe she would crawl on my lap if she could.  She has had excellent house manners, not one accident and has quickly fallen into our routine.   She has been sleeping through the night either on a dog bed in my bedroom and more recently on her favorite bed in the living room with the boys.  She loves her food and hops around in the cutest way when she knows its meal time but will then stand patiently in the kitchen while I am preparing meals.  But don’t let anything editable on the counters or she will help herself.  We are  working on the counter surfing and she is getting much better, takes correction very well.

I have taken her for a few walks around the block and she is great on leash,  greets people very calmly and just steps in stride with us while we walk.  She did well on her trip to the vet, encountered a few dogs and was very good around them, sniffing with tail wagging.  She is a great car rider, lays down quietly most of the trip with an occasional look out a window.  She was crated while I ran a few errands this week and while she needed a little encouragement to go in she did not cry and when I got home she was sleeping.  She gets along with all my dogs well and  she is the first greyhound that has been able to tire my galgos out.  With those long legs she was across my yard in a few strides, and discovered that its fun to chase a ball so we are working on teaching her to bring it back.  Indoors she likes her toys especially the ones that she can vigorously shake and toss, often jumping in the air to catch them.

And as a bonus this little girl sits and she has found her voice and talks to me sometimes.   She is still a bit of a velcro dog at times but is becoming more confident and independent every day.
She is doing well with the four steps going in and out the house so now that her sutures are out we are going to tackle the longer flight to the basement and  introduce her to the cat.

She is becoming very playful and  probably would do best with another young dog or some older children to play with or an owner that is willing to spend the time with her and a fenced yard would be great.  I don’t think she would be a good fit for really young children because she can be a bit exuberant with her play and affection and I would worry that she would knock them down
