About Heil "Hailey"

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: White and Red

Hailey was recently returned as she just could not adjust to being an only dog.  She is currently in a foster home with several other greyhounds and is doing great!  For this reason we are recommending that Hailey go to a home with other dogs/greyhounds.
Foster Update 8/26/2014

Hailey eats well, has had no accidents, gets along great with people and other dogs – she is a joy to foster!  The eye issue has completely resolved and Hailey is on no medication other than an over the counter probiotic capsule in her food twice a day

P's Heil who is called "Hailey" was recently relinquished as it just was not a good match.  She is back with her foster family and hasn't missed a beat.  She has noncontagious eye infection that is being treated by an eye speicialist and it is much improved with drops.

Foster Update 5/21/2014

Heil (racing name "P's Heil" - we call her "Hailey")  is a beautiful, four-year-old girl.  She is confident and curious, but does not take an alpha role in her foster home. Instead, she is contented following the lead of our two greyhounds.  She eats well and is a true lady when walking on her leash. She also does well in the car. Hailey is playful and enjoys her toys.  She has mastered the stairs, plus walking on our wood/tile/laminate flooring.

Hailey's foster home also includes two dog-friendly children, ages 8 and 12. She interacts in a gentle manner with them and the kids are enjoying Hailey's company. During the week, Hailey is crated while we are at work; at night, she sleeps on a dog bed next to our bed; she sleeps through the night.

Hailey is a sweet and highly affectionate girl.  She seeks out company and prefers to be wherever we or our dogs are in the house. It would be best if she was with another greyhound or similar sized dog or someone who is home most of the time.

She has been an exceptional ambassador for GFNJ, doling out greyhound hugs at a recent meet-and-greet event.  Hailey is ready to be welcomed into a home of her very own; in return, she'll make a warm, loyal and loving companion to her lucky adopter.
