Foster Update 10/12/2013
If you're looking for a companion that's affectionate and adoring, this is your girl! Meet Vogo Anne (Annie). This three-year-old hound is highly loving - one of the truly "mushy" ones. Her daily missions are to please and to be petted. She will stay by our sides without getting underfoot; her positive, calming spirit will shadow and affect you in a subtle, yet warming way.
Annie is being fostered in a home with two dog-friendly kids, ages 8 and 12. She is as gentle and sweet with them as they are with her. She is also sharing a home with three cats, two of them highly active. While Annie notices them and sniffs them on occasion, she has demonstrated no further interest in them. When directed with a gentle, yet firm "hey," she steps away from them.
Annie eats well and has shown no food aggression; in fact, she has shown no forms of aggression. She walks well on a leash and enjoys playing in our fenced yard with our two Greyhounds. Annie has had no accidents in the house. During the day, she is crated while we are work - she has done well with this arrangement. However, we are ready to leave her uncrated as she has proved to have impressive house manners. At night, she sleeps in our bedroom on a dog bed right next to our bed. A quiet girl, Annie sleeps through the night.
Annie mastered the stairs almost immediately and has learned to adeptly maneuver on wood, tile and laminate floorings. She is highly intelligent and curious, learning very quickly. She is obedient and eager to please. Annie also travels well in the car. While Annie enjoys the companionship of my Greyhounds, she may also do well as an "only dog."
Truly, Annie is a special Greyhound. A beautiful girl, she has an extraordinarily gentle, peaceful personality. For the rest of her life, she will generously share her love and joy with whomever is fortunate enough to adopt her.
