Kiowa Cry Bear is a pretty, little girl. She's calm, friendly, affectionate and walks great on leash. She's just one of those adorable little black females that we love. She's 4 years old and cat tolerant with supervision (she completely ignored the cat).
Foster Update 7/16/2013
Bear settled into our "pack" immediately. She gets along well with our two Greyhounds and has, so far, been ignoring our cats and has been gentle with our dog-friendly, young kids. Bear loves to play in our fenced yard but also has exquisite leash manners. She has been eating well and has had no accidents in the house. This sweet girl is not only beautiful, she's also very smart. She mastered going up and down the stairs after being helped just one time. Bear is very curious without being nosey; she observes and learns, soaking in her surroundings and surmising what's expected - then following through - by imitating my dogs' behaviors. She has taken several queues from them and quickly understood and adapted to the rules and routine of our busy home and family.
While we are at work during the day, Bear has been crated. She goes righto into the crate and immediately lays down. When we come home from work, she doesn't whine to come out - she patiently waits for us to open the crate. At bedtime, she sleeps quite soundly on a dog bed in our bedroom. Bear is a polite girl with striking beauty. She has a shiny coat and heart-melting eyes. She likes affection without being needy. She will come to you, but also welcomes you going to her.
Bear is a confident girl without domineering, alpha tendencies. I believe that she would do well as an "only dog" but she clearly does well living harmoniously with other Greyhounds, too. Bear will do well in either a quiet or busy home. Bear will be a loving companion to the home lucky enough to adopt her.
