About Jim Mason

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Red
Jim Mason was recently relinquished through no fault of his own.  He is in the Prison Foster Program and doing great with the men and the other greys.
Prison Inmate Foster Update  9/10/2013
"Well lets starty by saying that Mason is a very unique dog!  He behaves in every aspect that you want him to.  He is excellent on the leash as well.  When it comes to walking he does not pull you and walks by your side with the leash containing a lot of slack.  He does not use the bathroom in the room or chew anything either.  You can leave just about anything out without him being tempted to bother it.
He gets along with other dogs too!  He is not the least bit aggressive.  He remains happy when occupied with other dogs.  Like with every living being he does have some flaws.  I have to tell you that he does not like to be pulled by the collar and do not try to lift him by his front chest.  He doesn't like that but then who would.

Just like any other greyhound though he loves his neck to be scratched.  He can't get enough of it.  He actually isn't afraid to get a bath either.  He will just stand there for the most part and let you do what you need to.
He is just an amazing dog though.  Like most dogs, they don't like to be surprised when they are sleeping.  Just make your prescnece known with him and I' don't think anyone will have any problems with him.  I haven't had any and I've had him since he's been here.  Like I siad before, he is an excellent dog.  He's my buddy:"

Jim Mason is a stunning boy who has a personality to match.  He's sweet, friendly and calm.  He has gentle eyes that just take you in.  As a plus, he walks great on leash and is cat tolerant with supervision. This sweet boy will be 3 years old in April.

Original Foster Update:
Jim Mason has been settling into home life very well. He is one amazingly handsome red boy with huge brown eyes that are very expressive. He has funny ears in that they can't seem to figure out which way they want to land. I say 'he's a dog with many ears!" He is extremely snuggly and if possible, loves to sit near or next to you. Since day one, he has slept right next to me on the dog bed on the floor and he sleeps through the whole night. We have not had any bathroom accidents with him, in fact he will bark at you if he has to go out and you haven't figured it out yet. Nor does he try to chew on anything. He uses his crate well when he needs to be crated and in fact, went and lied down in it all by himself yesterday. As for my dogs, he has gotten along with them beautifully. He respects their space and at times is playful with them. I've witnessed no growling or food aggression at all.

When he first arrived he was very curious about the two cats. However, we have gotten to the point where the cats can walk by or near him and he just sniffs them. He gets better with them everyday.
He walks really well on a leash along with my dogs when we go for our daily walks, which he loves. He also can be vocal after he eats and stretches out and gets all comfy on a dog bed. It's pretty darn cute. Jim mastered the stairs and all of our floor surfaces the first day. He loves taking treats from your hand but is not quite sure what toys are. It's fun to see him blossom everyday with each discovery. All in all he is a beautiful boy. He is very sweet and loving and he just needs his forever home to find him.
