Boc's Ham Porter whose call name is "Ham" spent the entire Fall 2012 academic semester as a cherished friend and valued "teaching animal" at Becker College in Leicester, Massachusetts in their Animal Studies program. More information about this new partnership with Becker will be added to our website.
Ham's students report: "Humble and hopeful, this handsome fella was made to be somebody's best friend! He greets everyone he meets with a bright, engaging smile and a wagging tail and, now that he is retired, he would rather get a hug than take a run any day. He's a smart boy who sees the benefits of both mental challenges and physical relaxation - after his training sessions, he likes nothing more than to lie out in the grass and soak up the sun. Hammy is a mellow guy with a happy heart that thrives on his friendships - he enjoys playing with other polite hounds, as long as they don't hog all the attention and he gets a leg to lean on! He would do best in a low-key household where he can really be a part of the family."
Our assessment of Ham is along the same lines--he is very gorgeous and sweet boy. We describe him as a "love bug" who loves affection. He's a leaner and quite engaging. Ham is 2 years old and cat tolerant with supervision. He is a big boy and would enjoy a fenced yard or frequent walks.
