Blackjack Future is back with us and in a foster home. She's doing quite well and is getting along with everyone, including a cat and a greyhound. She's slightly timid but coming around nicely.  Her current foster described her as a "total love."

Blackjack Future has an odd name for a little cutie.  Future is calm, quiet, friendly and sweet.  She's just a really nice, nice girl.  She also walks nicely on leash--what more could you ask for.  Well, she's cat tolerant with supervision.  She just turned 3 in November.

Foster Update 1/1/2012

Blackjack had a wonderful christmas, put up with a house full of guests very well.  She's housebroken, listens very well, is curious about the cat but not agressive at all and is getting along well with the other 2 female greys in the house.  She's a tiny bit skittish at first if you approach her, but once you sit down she comes right up to you and even gives kisses.  Loves playing with toys and this morning was playing with the other dog.

Foster Update: 3/5/12

Blackjack Future is a very cute little lady.  When she first came into the foster home, she was a bit on the shy side, but she has learned that a quiet household and love is what she likes best.  Like some greyhounds in our care, certain ones can sometimes be fearful of children outside who are playing loudly and actively, as children do.  So on walks, Jackie prefers the quieter routes.  Bouncing basketballs can also frighten her, as with many greyhounds – so again, a quieter route where loud activities will not be encountered would work best for this girl.  Sudden, unexpected movements in the house can send her scurrying, so a home with no young children or older children might work best for Jackie.  She was at a Meet and Greet on Saturday, and interacted beautifully with all the many greys around her, visiting and sniffing everyone.  Also the people surrounding her didn’t seem to bother her in the least.  Her leash was passed from adopter to adopter, and she liked everyone.  She eats well, gets along nicely with her greyhound foster brother, and is living harmoniously with cats as well.  Blackjack Future is ready to find her forever home!
