Devil's Judge is a very sweet 2 year old boy. He is a handsome boy who lacks confidence. He needs some help and would probably do best in a home with another greyhound to gain confidence. He is very sweet and we could see that he wants to enjoy life, given the opporutunity to blossom. He is cat tolerant with supervision.
This sweet boy is in foster care.
FOSTER HOME UPDATE:
He has been doing VERY well! He hasn't had any accidents in the house. He's doing wonderfully with the cats and pretty much ignores them - an occasional sniff but no real "interest" in them. He crates very well during the day and I've stopped going home at lunch time. My son gets home at 3:00 and he can wait to go out then.
He is getting over his timidness-- about 1/2 the time when you reach out to pet him, he doesn't run away and sometimes he will come to you for pets. He has great leash manners and walks like a pro. With the slightly warmer temps and longer daylight, we've seen some dogs on our walks. He is curious about them, but usually will just sniff. One neighbor has a golden retriever who just LOVES everyone and Devil tolerated the face licking he got very well:) We've seen cats and squirrels outside and while he's interested in them, he is easily redirected with a "leave it".
He will better off in a home with another greyhound. He is still a real follower and I thing might feel lost without a greyhound home with him.
On-Going Foster Update: We went to the meet and greet last weekend and he did wonderfully! He let everyone pet him and when they were finished and walking away, he would try to follow! All of the people, dogs and activity at Petsmart didn't seem to bother him at all. We stayed a little over 2 hours and he was fine with that. At home on our walks, we've been seeing a lot more people and dogs. He's been around small jumpy dogs and larger barking dogs and he isn't bothered by either (the large barkers are usually on the other side of the street). We only had 1 other incident of growling when he was on the dog bed 2 weeks ago - one of the cats came near him and he started a low growl. I told him NO and he stopped. Ever since he's been fine. Dodger and Rhoda walk by him and lay near him regularly with no issues. He is truly becoming a couch potato and if Rhoda and Dodger are laying on the 2 dog beds in the living room, he will go up to my bedroom to lay on the other dog bed!
