Deerfield Bill whose call name is "Bill" is one handsome and lucky boy. He came to us from Alabama through the efforts of many volunteers who transported him from Alabama to Greyhound Friends. He came to us as a boy who broke his leg while racing and needed sanctuary with us.  We were happy to welcome him along with Wingo who also had a broken leg.  Our orthopedist took great care of Bill and determined that his leg was not broken but injured and it was cast for healing.  Bill  has been recuperating in the Prison Foster Program and is all healed and ready for his forever home. 

Bill is 3 years old and cat tolerant with supervision.  He is one really nice boy who is friendly and outgoing and has done very well in the Prison Foster Program

"Bill is a very happy dog.  He will make you laugh sometimes, and also has a funny way of making you feel loved.  He loves attention and like it when he gets attention. He is very smart and likes to play as well."

"Bill is a very loving dog.  He is great company.  He shows a lot of affection and loves to receive lots of affection.  Bill will make you laugh with some of the faces he makes.  Bill always seems to have a way of making you feel comfortable.  He is full of love and is a wonderful dog."

Meet and Greet--PBurg Mall 9/25/2010

Deerfield Bill attended our M&G at a local mall on Saturday.  Everyone agreed - this boy is such a gentleman!  SO easy to handle and SO sweet.  He was calm and loving and just so darn nice, I think every one of the volunteers made the comment at one time or another during the M&G that maybe we could switch one of our own greys for this boy? (just joking!)  But he was that good!  Bill is actually a pretty tall boy, you don't realize it at first because he still needs to gain weight, but he will be very striking once he gets a chance to fill out.  I can't wait until this extra-nice dog, with his sweet, sweet nature and playful side (see update from his prison caretaker) gets a home, and gets to enjoy the good life because he really deserves it.
