Irish Heather is a large 4 1/2 year-old lady who is very nice with beautiful eyes. She is very friendly and outgoing. Although not "cat keen" she was very curious about the cat--she is considered to be "cat workable".

Foster Update: Irish Heather ("Heather") went into foster care on July 21st and straight into her foster mom's heart. Although she is probably more than average size for a female, Heather is like a sprite; quick, light and graceful, with the most delicate face, and exotic dark eyes. She is just learning about soft squeak toys, but already has a special rubber ball she will retrieve over and over. Heather has not had an accident in the house since the first day, which may have just been nerves, so she is well on her way to being housebroken. She is such a good girl! She was anxious about her new life at first, but every day is more relaxed and happy, clearly learning that life is very good now. Heather goes up and down a full flight of stairs with no problem (although if there's only about 5 steps, she will just leap them all at once!), jumps in the car for a ride, wades in the creek after a long walk, plays in the yard with the other greyhounds, and of course since she is a greyhound, takes long naps in the silliest positions! Sometimes she chooses to share a bed with another greyhound, but she is so easy to be with that the other dogs don't mind. She hasn't barked yet, but living in a house with a Husky/Shepherd mix and two other greyhounds who do bark, means she probably will learn before long! She wags her tail and is happily animated when she meets people, and jumps lightly in the air when she greets her foster mom after an absence. Heather loves affection and attention but is not pushy about asking for it. She just moves in very close to you and with the hope you will notice her and pet her. And really, who could resist?? (and that is just fine with Heather!)
