About Fanatic Buxom "Fanny"

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Black

Adoption Pending

Fanactic Buxom whose call name is "Fanny" is an adorable little girl. She is so sweet but on the timid side. She looks right into your eyes with that appealing and searching expression.  She wants to join in but is looking for direction. This little sweetie is in a foster home. She is 2 years old and cat tolerant with supervision.
Foster Update 3/8/2010:
Fanny is doing well in our home - she's been here for just over a week.  She gets along great with our greyhound, Dodger, and does fine with the cats - she is very easily redirected.  Fanny is very shy and unsure of herself and her surroundings.  Kids on skateboards, loud noises and people walking by are enough to make her try to turn and run - so she'd probably do best in a low key home without small children.  We're doing what we can to help build her confidence and show her that life outside the kennel can be a good thing.  She eats well and will take treats from you.  She adores her crate - but we make sure she spends time out of it when we are at home.  After several days, she has mastered the steps up and down.    Fanny's big brown eyes just tug at your heart.  At night she will stand next to my bed and have me rub her ears.  This little girl will need some patience and TLC but the rewards can be huge.
Foster Update 3/15/2010:
Yesterday morning, I  got a tail wag when we got up in the morning.  Today, there were tail wags AND play bows!  She also will let me know when she needs to go out - either with a few whimpers or she'll go down the steps to my front door - smart cookie!  We've encountered very few people and other dogs outside with the crazy weather, but I've been slowly expanding our walking area.  She does very well on the leash and isn't freezing up as much as she was in the beginning.  If she does, I just have to reach back for her collar or harness saying "Let's go" and she'll start walking again.  She isn't really seeking pets yet, but if I'm on the floor playing with Dodger, sometimes she'll get up and come a little closer to see what's going on.
Update March 29,2010:

Fanny, sweet Fanny! Fanny continues to do well in our home. She still only shows excitement in the morning when we first get up, but you can really see what a funny girl she's going to be! She'll run around me and roo, roo, roo, play bow, jump a little. It's very cute! We've been going on longer walks with the nice weather and she's doing well. At first, she'll try to turn around and head back, but after a short time, she'll just walk on. I've stopped to talk to people and she'll just stand off to the side and keep an eye on things. Won't you let this little girl into your heart?
Foster Update:

Fanny is doing well  and is getting along with our other two greys.   She is shy around children so would probably do better in a quiet household.   She is improving around strangers, as long as they are adults.    She does best in the company of the other greyhounds in the house, so in her forever home, she would enjoy the company of another greyhound.   Fanny will come and talk to me when she wants to go out, and especially when meal time approaches.  She loooooves mealtime.

This little girl would love to find her forever home.
