Bernice is a real sweetie with a mysterious past as she was found wandering the streets in Florida and was put into a shelter. She was taken out of the shelter by GPA Emerald Coast as a foster girl. She had some real obstacles--she was heartworm positvie but was treated and has come up clear of those heartworms. She was underweight and desperately needed a dental which has all been done. She got terrific vet care and received the love and TLC that she deserved and regained her strength. 

Bernie just turned 9 years old in February. She gives unconditional love and melts your heart with a look in her eyes. She loves to relax and sleep and eat.  She brings a hearfelt warmth to all who meet her. 

We are so happy and fortunate to welcome Bernie into our Greyhound Friends family. She is so sweet and pretty and happy. Oh, and look at those bat ears--how adorable!!This lady is cat tolerant with supervision.  She is in a foster home.
Foster Update 3/7/2010:
Bernice has been in her foster for 6 days now and she's been an absolute dream to have around.  She has shown no interest in the cat, she's calm and sweet and loves to cuddle.  She would be fine with other greyhounds but would also do well as an only dog.  She isn't a counter surfer and will let you know when she needs to go outside.
