About Santiago Sato

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Black and White

Santiago is a very sweet boy who we recently welcomed from Puerto Rico.   He is a Sato dog which is a type of street dog. The Sato refers to a small to medium-sized stray dog. Satos are often similar in appearance to a small Pointer or Terrier.  These free-ranged dogs are known to make excellent family pets. Unlike other "feral" dogs, the Satos have a small territory, and many are always in contact with humans.  The veterinarian who neutered him described him as a German Shephard Mix--he is on the smallish side and about 50 pounds.

Santiago is timid but wants to trust and to be loved. He will take some TLC but the rewards in earning the trust in a special boy like Santiago are great. He will make a loyal companion.  He would do best with a fenced yard and another dog to show him how to trust.  He is about 2 to 3 years old.   His adoption fee is $500 to help to defray the cost of travel and care.  He is cat tolerant with supervision.
