About Freedom

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: White and Black

Freedom is a Spanish Galgo born 12/22/2016. He was rescued in Spain as he was left to die on the side of the road with a chain in his neck. We are happy to have Freedom in our GFNJ Family.

Foster Update

This is Freedom! He is a 2-year-old Galgo rescued from Spain. He is timid and sometimes skittish and it takes time to warm up to new people but once he does, he’s your friend.. He is both cat and dog-friendly, although he prefers calmer/ quieter companions who show him the way. He is working on his leash manners and house training. He must have at least a 6 foot or higher secure fenced yard. Freedom would do best with at least one other calm dog.

Requirements and information to adopt
Galgos are a different breed from racing greyhounds and as such can be more energetic.

**They can jump and climb and we do require a minimum of a 6 foot fence for any Galgo that we adopt.
They are generally very sweet and very cute.
They usually require the company of another greyhound or dog.

The adoption fee to adopt a Galgo from GFNJ is $500 which only partially defrays the cost of transportation and vetting expenses.
If you are interested in getting more information, please call Linda at 732-356-4370. You won't regret adopting a Galgo!!

Freedom is fully vetted and has been tested negative for Leishmaniosis
