About Hydrogentime

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Red

AJN Hydrogentime is an adorable little girl. She is friendly and curious like the young dog she is. She has the sweetest little face. She is affectionate and "chitters" with happiness. She is just another one of those sweet little girls. She may enjoy the company of another greyhound as she is young. She will be 2 years old in November. She is cat tolerant with supervision.
Foster UPdate 10/10/2017:
Ajn Hydrogentime was born November 1, 2015. What a cutie pie!

Hydro has a beautiful coat; while she’s mostly fawn, her head and neck are sable (black tipped). She has a stunning a black mask that exudes a feeling of depth and mystery. But there’s nothing mysterious about her. Her presence in our home has brought an air of charm and an overall feeling of happiness.

Here’s what your need to know about this sweet girl:

  • Very affectionate and gives it as good as she gets it. The first thing people notice about her is how endearing she is. She simply makes you feel good just by being in the room.
  • Crates well while we are at work/school.
  • Sleeps through the night on a dog bed in our bedroom.
  • Gets along with our two male greyhounds (a goofy 9-year-old and a 13-year-old elder statesman).
  • Does well with our dog-friendly kids, ages 12 and 16.
  • Mastered the stairs and walking on our wood/tile/laminate flooring (the stairs are carpeted).
  • Eats well; has shown no food aggression.
  • Has not shown any space aggression.
  • Travels well in the car.
  • Walks well on a leash.
  • Will make a fantastic “ambassadog” -- she is socialable.
  • Ignores our cats; it’s like they’re not even there.
  • LOVES squeaky stuffies (dog toys).

 What to watch for:

  • Hydro is a hoarder; a habit many greyhounds have. This means that she takes things and hides them where she sleeps. I’ve found several things under her bed that she shouldn’t have. If she can pick it up with her mouth and finds it interesting, she’ll take it. She’s yet to chew anything up and corrects well when we correct her. She also lets us take things while they’re still in her mouth. With continued corrections, I’m sure she’ll learn to drop this habit.

Hyrdro is a special girl. She is young, but has learned house manners very quickly. She’s truly endeared herself to us and will make an warm, happy addition to the home that her adopter welcomes her to. A true cuddle bug.
