About Sangria

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Dark Brindle

O Ya Sangria is a beautiful dark brindle girl.  She is a happy, friendly girl who is a hugger. She loves affectionate and is playful but not pushy. The folks in Florida described her as "really sweet and fairly mellow."  She is a curious girl and interested in learning about her new surroundings. She is just another very nice girl!.  Sangria is 2 years old and cat tolerant with supervision.
Foster Update 4/18/2017

O Ya Sangria was born July 13, 2014. She is a pretty, dark brindle little girl with the most beautiful, dark eyes. Here’s what you need to know about this sweet greyhound:

·        She loves life! Sangria is a very happy girl, always wagging her tail and thrilled to see you every time you walk into a room.

·        Very affectionate; she is a true lover that enjoys being with the people in her foster home and getting petted and snuggled.

·        Crates well while we are at work/school, though protests with a tiny, short whine when she is first crated. We can check her from work on our WiFi cameras; every time we've checked, she's been sleeping soundly.

·        Listens well and is very eager to please. To correct Sangria, we give a stern “Hey!” or “No!” We started off squirting her with the water spray bottle when she needed to be corrected; now we simply shake it and she stops the offending behavior.

·        Gets along with our two male greyhounds (a goofy 8-year-old and a 13-year-old elder statesman).

·        Does well with our dog-friendly kids, ages 11 and 15.

·        Knows the stairs and is adept at walking on our wood/tile/laminate flooring (the stairs are carpeted).

·        Eats well; has shown no food aggression.

·        Travels well in the car.

·        Sleeps soundly and all night on a dog bed next to our bed.

·        Is a lady on a leash.

·        Will make a fantastic “ambassadog” for greyhound adoption as she has good manners and is happy to meet people.

·        Has not had any accidents in the house.

What Sangria’s learning:
·        Counter surfing (two front feet up on the kitchen counter) isn’t allowed.
·        Cats are off limits. As the days pass, she has found the cats to be more and more interesting and has become more bold about approaching them. Our cats generally stay free and clear of her because of this. She easily corrects, but should be supervised at all times a cat is out and about the house.
·        Like many dogs, she appreciates her space when she is sleeping. One of my dogs doesn’t understand personal space and has walked on her bed while she is resting. In response, Sangria has given him warning growls, but nothing more than that.

We love Sangria; she's such a refreshing presence to have in our home. She is care-free and enjoying every minute of life. She will do well in a home where her happy-go-lucky spirit can continue to bloom and where smiles are welcome.
