Imark Lacey is a very pretty girl who although she is slightly reserved at first, she warms up nicely and is friendly. She is calm and wants to please. She looks to people around her for some direction. Lacey is 2 years old and cat tolerant with supervision. She also walks nicely on leash.
Foster Update 4/9/2017
Imark Lacey, called “Lacey," was born July 17, 2014. She has a joyous spirit that everyone she meets is drawn to. here’s what you need to know about Lacey:
- She loves life! Lacey is an incredibly happy dog and this zest is contagious.
- Very affectionate; she is a true lover that enjoys being with the people in her foster home and getting petted and snuggled.
- Crates well while we are at work/school.
- Listens well and is very eager to please.
- Gets along with our two male greyhounds (a goofy 8-year-old and a 13-year-old elder statesman).
- Does well with our dog-friendly kids, ages 11 and 15. We do not recommend her for small children only because, when she is extra happy, she doesn't realize her size and may knock down smaller children by bumping into them.
- Is a bit too keen on our cats; we don’t recommend her for a home with cats.
- Knows the stairs and is adept at walking on our wood/tile/laminate flooring.
- Eats well; has shown no food aggression.
- Has not shown any space aggression. We’ve tested this by standing over her (when she’s muzzled) when she’s on a dog bed. She does not react to us when we do this or our dogs when they walk by her or attempt to share a dog bed with her.
- Travels well in the car.
- Is a lady on the leash.
- Will make a fantastic “ambassadog” for greyhound adoption as she has good manners and is happy to meet people.
- Has not had any accidents in the house.
- Lacey is learning not to counter surf (front paws on the kitchen counter). She is also learning not to steal. This means that she has picked up things and walked away with them (things like socks, shoes, etc.); we have caught her chewing things (example, a baseball cap). When caught counter surfing, stealing, or chewing, Lacey corrects well and there are no issues taking things from her. We correct her either verbally or with a water spray bottle (we just shake it at this point); she corrects quickly and listens.
We adore Lacey. She is adorable, affectionate, and will bring joy to the home she is adopted into.
