WW's McScore whose call name is "Score" is one handsome and special boy. He is so sweet and friendly that he captured all of the volunteers with his charm. He is engaging and just loves to cuddle and will try to get into your lap. He just loved all the attention but he was calm and sweetly went to each volunteer asking for some affection which was readily given to this sweetie. He had a broken leg that was repaired in Florida so he is very special to them as well. They described him: "He is like a soft teddy bear. He loves people. He tries to climb up in my lap when I am outside sitting with the dogs. He also plays hide and seek--he will hide outside and peek around the corner to see where I am. He waits for a belly rub and goes right into his crate when asked. Hugs are his favorite thing. Scolding him hurts his feelings and he does all he can to please you. When he runs too fast, he has a limp but otherwise his doesn't limp. He has been with kids."
Score is 2 years old and cat tolerant with supervision.
Foster Update 12/22/2016
WW McScore was born May 4, 2014. He has a stunning, deep red fawn coat and is oh-so-handsome. Score has a sweetness about him and has truly endeared himself to his foster family. He is a gentle “mushy” boy with a quiet soul; he lives to give and get love. Here’s why you may want to consider welcoming Score into your life and home:
- Super affectionate; he is a true lover that enjoys being with the people in his foster home and getting petted and snuggled.
- Crates well while we are at work/school.
- Gets along with our two male greyhounds (a goofy 8-year-old and a 12-year-old elder statesman). We are also fostering a 3-year-old female, Maple, that he also gets along with.
- Does well with our dog-friendly kids, ages 11 and 15.
- Ignores our 3 cats and 1 kitten (and, believe me, they’re hard to ignore).
- Mastered the stairs and walking on our wood/tile/laminate flooring (the stairs are carpeted).
- Eats well; has shown no food aggression.
- Has not shown any space aggression. In fact, Maple (our female foster) often snuggles up to him when he is on a dog bed; Score doesn’t bat an eye when she does this.
- Travels well in the car.
- Is a gentleman on the leash.
- Will make a fantastic “ambassadog” for greyhound adoption as Score is very gentle and calm.
- Initially, when we brought Score home to foster him, he had accidents in the house. Since he has not had an accident in several days, it seems he is now house trained, especially since he became familiar with and immersed in the rules of living in a house and our family’s busy schedule.
- He is learning that people beds are for people.
Before he came to Greyhound Friends of New Jersey, Score experienced a front left leg break. The leg is fully healed; we’ve noticed no limp and he enjoys running (and keeping up with) the three other greyhounds in our home when they run in our fenced backyard.
Score is a wonderful, calm boy. He has a soothing way about him that is almost Zen-like. He has a warm, humble presence and beautiful heart. Score’s future adopter will be welcoming a very special boy who will dedicate himself to loving his adopter for the rest of his life.
