About Bob's Bronco

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Color: Red

Bob's Bronco is a very handsome boy.  He is quiet, calm, and friendly after an initial introduction and he feels secure. Once he feels OK and secure he loves people and shows that he is a real leaner.  The folks in Florida described him as "wonderful with people, cats and small dogs."  He also walks very nicely on leash. Bronco is 2 years old and cat tolerant with supervision.

(The usual camera didn't work so the pictures do not do Bronco justice.)

Foster Update 8/30/2016

Bob’s Bronco was born August 4, 2014.  While he’s only two-years-old, he’s like an old, gentle soul and very calm. He can be a little shy at first, but warms up quickly. He’s also quite stunning.  Bronco has fully endeared himself to us––we’re very impressed by him. Here’s why:

  • Excellent house manners; no accidents inside.
  • Walks beautifully on a leash; a true gentleman.
  • Sleeps all night on a dog bed next to our bed.
  • Eats well.
  • Very quiet and unassuming.
  • Great with our dog-friendly kids, ages 11 and 15.
  • Gets along with our 2 greyhounds and a foster. Our hounds are males. The 12 year-old is like an elder statesman. The 8 year old is a goof ball. Bronco also gets along with another foster, a happy-go-lucky 3-year-old female.
  • Gives a wide berth to our three crazy cats. He wants nothing to do with them.
  • Has learned the rules and routine of our busy home quickly.
  • Crates well.
  • Bronco can go up and down the stairs and gets better every day; he is getting comfortable with our laminate flooring, but does well on our wood and tile flooring.
  • Bronco loves to be with the people in the family and/or the other dogs; our recommendation, since he doesn’t like being alone, is that he be adopted into a home that either has another dog or someone who is home most of the time. While one of his front legs broke in his last race, he has fully recovered and doesn’t miss a stride when walking or running with the other greyhounds in our backyard.

And, while we know he was afraid of the laminate floors, he pushed himself forward to master walking on them. He becomes steadier every time. You can see the tenacity in his eyes. It’s this specific trait––this will to overcome––that immediately endeared him to us. We adore him. By adopting Bronco, you’ll be welcoming a calming presence into your home––one that will amaze and love you for the rest of his life.
