~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
Burdette
My wonderful boy Burdette (KB's Burdette) past away on Feb. 12th. 2021. He was a momma's boy who would follow me around, lay his head in my lap, was friendly with other dogs and loved his sister hound Sophie. He was 11 years and 8 months old.
I miss him with all my heart.
Forrest and Jenny
They will always be as they are in the photos. Together, side by side.
Forrest aka Country Venture February 2012 - age 7
Jenny aka Dublin Mary Ann December 2020 - age 13 and 3/4 years
Nyxie (Dragon's Lair's Onyx Wyrm)
You knew her as Gogo Hera, but to us, she was Nyxie (Dragon's Lair's Onyx Wyrm).
7.5 years with her was simply not enough. She loved squeaky toys, food (especially a good steak), her giant beanbag chairs, and chasing all our other greyz around our huge fenced backyard. And she had a great sense of humor, as illustrated when she ate the one and only tiny watermelon growing on the vine my wife was so proud of (crunch, crunch, crunch, gulp). She would "troll" people by batting at them if they walked by the beanbag she was laying on and they didn't stop to pet her... or when stopped petting her and walked away. She was a champion roacher, cuddler, and farter, and we miss her horribly.
Magic (Dragon's Lair's Magic Miss)
Magic (Dragon's Lair's Magic Missile) 12/11/2011-10/25/2022
Magic (formerly Winter) lived up to her name! She was a sweet, gentle, and beautiful girl. She loved her special chair, being part of the pack, and the mahi mahi I would slip her at the table when I thought my wife wasn't looking. After nine wonderful years with her, we had to say goodbye at the end of October. Her "big sister" Nyxie and "big brother" Dazzy were surely waiting at the bridge to welcome her home and take her for long walks and fast romps in a huge yard again.
Gracie
Gracie (racing name Dakota Kat) was the perfect dog. She enjoyed walks, naps on the couch, and digging. Her happy teeth chattering always brought a smile to my face. This sweet girl was a beloved part of our family for 10 years. Those years passed all too quickly and we said goodbye to her just a few weeks shy of her turning 14. I am devastated. Gracie changed my life. She brought joy and healing unlike any other dog I’ve ever known. She was my heart dog and I will miss her every moment.
