Eyewitness is one great boy who was found running loose. When the adopter was located, they relinquished him. He immediately went into a foster home.
Foster Update 7/26/2015
Don't scroll by Eye Witness! He deserves a second look, really he does. He's been with us for some time after a rocky start with his first forever home, but I know he'll adapt to a new family. He loves people, and is so very affectionate.
Who wouldn't want to wake up to those big brown eyes staring into yours, head resting on the bed?
Eye Witness waits nicely for his food, doesn't rush the door when we go for walks and doesn't even try to steal our other dog's beds (he did try that initially).
We have been very happy to foster him, love him, but want to him to find a forever home.
Eyewitness foster update 4/3/2015
Eyewitness had been through a lot before he came to us, and we expected some issues because of this, but we were immediately and happily surprised by his good nature and gentleness with us and our own greys.
He loves attention, is a very enthusiastic greeter at the Meet&Greets and despite his size (he's quite a large boy) people can't help but be charmed by him.
In the house, he has much better manners than our own dogs at mealtime, he has had no accidents, and will come when called or whistled. Stairs are no problem, and he loves jumping in the car at walk time. We particularly love him meeting us at the door when we come home from work, his cute little "woof" when we are getting ready to go out and seeing how tight he curls up when he puts himself to bed (see photo).
Eyewitness is a super sweet, handsome big boy with great enthusiasm for new experiences.
This great dog deserves a forever home.
Foster Update 2/11/2015
Eye Witness is a giant lovebug who is happy to spend all day being massaged and hugged by his person. He enjoys head massages and neck rubs and he will even place his nose in your hand to let you know he wants some lovin'!
He is very smart and a fast learner. We call him "Witness" or "Wit" and it took less than a day to learn his name. When he is called, he will come running for affection. He has learned that when he wants to go potty, he just needs to stand by the door. He does need a bit of discipline, but he is a fast learner and picks up cues very quickly. The first thing he did when he came to the house was jump right on the bed like he always belonged there. He is easily redirected and he no longer jumps onto the bed unless he is invited. He has not jumped on the furniture and he does not counter surf.
He crates easily and when it is time for bed, he will go into the crate on his own volition. He is a work in progress on his leash walking manners. He does well with other dogs, but does posture around male dogs. He is surprisingly wary of Dolce (our 10 year old toothless girl) and stays out of her way, so he is not an overly dominant or overbearing dog.
He is a big boy and would most likely do best in a family with older kids.
We tried brushing his teeth. He is not accustomed to it, but with a soft bristled brush and gentle hands, he allows you to brush them. He tolerates bath time well.
"Wit" is a wonderful dog that will do well with an owner who will commit to providing consistent training, discipline, and tons of affection.

WW's Eye Witness is a very handsome and striking boy. He's very friendly, happy, affectionate and sweet. He wanted to give the volunteers hugs!!--how cute. He's a big mooshy boy who would enjoy a fenced yard in which to romp. Eye Witness will be 5 years old in July. Although he really likes people, no cats please.
Inmate caretaker update:
