Chester A. Riley deserves to "live the life of Riley" even if he does not have the comedic talents of his 1948 namesake. This hound is endearing and as sweet as they come. He is very affectionate and will fall asleep with his head in your lap with just a few minutes of gentle ear rubs. His sleek black fur is as soft as a bunny and shows the great physique of this retired racer. His coloring looks as if he leapt right from the silver screen of a black and white 1940s movie. Chester is polite and always insists you go first before he follows you everywhere...even into the bathroom.  He goes up and down stairs and walks on wood and tile with ease. He enjoys strolls with our other dogs and trots side by side with them nicely. If he could speak, he may show you his impression of Dug the Talking Dog from the animated movie Up and yell "squirrel" while on a walk if said furry critter is spotted in the distance. His appetite is healthy so treats are a welcomed supplement to his two regular meals. Chester would be a great addition to any family. He has been caught spooning with our boxer and trying to share a bed with our grey.  He exhibits great patience and tolerates his bedtime teeth brushing before retiring for the night. Mr. Chester A. Riley may only be two years old, but I am convinced he is an old soul with a playful spirit displaying nothing short of kindness in his eyes. Adopt Chester and you will be adopting a sweetheart who is gentle, loving, and loyal.
